Description

Built over 100 years ago, it’s been a family home, a post-Prohibition liquor store and a myriad of modern businesses. The only consistency is the timelessness of the house and the stories it contains, as it’s reinvented once again into a neighborhood gathering place. Magnolia House is a hideaway for those in the know – offering warm hospitality, unique craft cocktails, and a small plate menu from around the world.

This is something about this restaurant that make you feel at home once you walk into their establishment. When you first walk up to it you can’t help but notice that there’s a big open bay window. It makes you feel like your in the country and sitting out on a back porch. Everything is stylish and old appeal. They have inside and outside dinning and you can chose whatever but we sat at the back “front” porch. The decor is charming throughout the restaurant. In the back of the restaurant is a quite area it feels like a VIP area but it is far from.

The food they serve comes in rather small portions but filling. We had the chicken n’ waffles plate and Forager Omelet. The meal was pretty good and just enough. I usually get lemonade to drink with my meal. Oddly enough I only had half a glass. Needless to say it was horrible. They do serve their custom alcoholic beverages but I wasn’t in the mood to drink today.

This is a hard one for me but:

UTCL rating – 7.8

I really like the place but the lemonade has got to get better. The food was a little above average. It’ll take a lot for me to come out here right away or in about 6-7 months then I would try it again.
